Biography of Tere Liye
Tere Liye is a prominent Indonesian author known for his deeply emotional and thought-provoking novels. Born on May 21, 1979, in Lahat, South Sumatra, his real name is Darwis. He adopted the pen name "Tere Liye," which means "for you" in Hindi, as a symbolic dedication to his readers. Coming from a modest background, Tere Liye pursued his education seriously and later graduated from the University of Indonesia with a degree in economics.
Before becoming a full-time writer, Tere Liye worked in the financial sector, including in a bank. However, his passion for storytelling eventually led him to focus on writing. He began his literary career in the early 2000s, and his first novel, Hafalan Shalat Delisa (Delisa's Prayer Memorization), published in 2005, quickly captured the hearts of readers.
